Description
Designed for the fashionable gentleman with a driven sensibility, the
Swatch Clock the Time men's chronograph watch offers a precise
1/10-second chronograph and a bezel with tachymeter readings, which can
be used to measure time over distance. It also features a polished
silver stainless steel watch case and triple-link bracelet band. The
busy metallic light blue dial face includes grooved circular accents,
three silver-outlined chrono subdials, and oversized luminous baton
hands (with red seconds hand). It also has a gray band of small Arabic
numerals noting every two minutes framed by an exterior silver band of
small minute indexes and triangular hour markers. Other features
include precise Swiss quartz movement, date window at 6 o'clock, and
water resistance to 30 meters (100 feet)--enabling it to withstand
splashes and snowspray, but not suitable for swimming.
Swatch Chronograph
A Swatch Chrono watch includes a stopwatch mechanism, which makes it
possible to measure and record short times. By clicking on the push
buttons, the hands of the chronograph (seconds, minutes, hours) can be
started, stopped, or reset to zero.
About Swatch
In the mid 1970s, the Swiss watch industry was in the midst of its
worst ever crisis after facing stiff competition from Japanese-made
brands. The Swatch brand was launched in 1983 with the original Swatch
quartz watch, a slim plastic timepiece with only 51 components that
combined top quality with a highly affordable price. Today, after sales
of over 200 million watches, the Swatch Group has grown to include
brands such as Omega, Longines, Rado, Mido, and Pierre Balmain as well
as the original Swatch brand. The name "Swatch" is often misconstrued
as a contraction of the words "Swiss Watch," but Nicolas Hayek,
Chairman of the Swatch Group, affirms that the original contraction was
"Second Watch."
